A recent newspaper article reported that 40% of British buyers considering overseas property purchases would prefer to buy in Spain. According to Spanish government sources, around 750,000 British people have bought property in Spain and in the last 10 years Spanish property has increased in value by a staggering 270%. The Spanish economy has experienced an almost permanent post-Franco boom with growth currently running at around 4% per annum.
